EPOS FOR BAR COUNTERS

Bar EPOS and POS systems for drinks-counter sales

Plan the product, order and payment workflow your staff need at the bar. Combine the relevant POS functions with compatible counter equipment, then confirm the stock and reporting tools that support your operation.

Available functions depend on configuration and staff access. Tabs, drink modifiers and specialist billing arrangements need their own demonstration.

THE STAFF ORDER

Start with what staff select and how the order is handled

Use a typical order from your bar to test the catalogue and available controls. Product selection, customer lookup and order-queue handling are supported; the permitted updates depend on the order’s state.

Find the products

Staff select products from the configured catalogue. Confirm how each item you sell is represented rather than assuming support for measures, mixers or modifiers.

Review the order

Use the supported order controls and customer lookup where relevant. Demonstrate any changes your team needs to make before or after payment.

Follow the payment result

Check how the selected method handles payment and updates the relevant records. Recording a payment taken elsewhere is different from processing it through an integration.

ORDER RECORDS AND BILLING

Make the distinction between an open order and a tab

Open-order handling

Staff can work with the supported order queue and eligible updates. An open order does not by itself establish a customer credit tab, card pre-authorisation or merged rounds.

Part payments and balances

Part-payment and outstanding-balance functions are supported. They do not by themselves establish splitting a bill by guest or item.

If your bar relies on tabs, consolidated rounds or particular bill-splitting rules, make those specific scenarios part of the demonstration before choosing the setup.

THE WORKING POSITION

Choose counter equipment alongside the payment connection

Staff terminal

Consider counter space, staff reach and the work the terminal must support. Confirm the exact model and software requirements for the proposed position.

Explore touchscreen POS terminals

Payment terminal

Integrated payments require a compatible device, connector and gateway. Confirm how the amount is passed and how a successful, failed or uncertain result is handled.

Receipt printing

Confirm the required receipt output and supported printer. Discovery and testing depend on the relevant online connector and equipment configuration.

Explore receipt printers

PRODUCT RECORDS

Track stocked products without assuming draught measurement

Maintain product-level stock records, make supported adjustments and configure low-stock thresholds. Supplier-linked purchasing and goods receipt can support replenishment through the available workflow.

A product stock balance does not establish measurement of liquid poured, ingredient use, recipe quantities or wastage. Demonstrate those requirements separately if they are important to your bar.

RECORDS AND CUSTOMER REWARDS

Review transactions and configure eligible loyalty points

Sales, payments and products

Use the available reports and filters to review recorded activity, subject to permissions. Order value and money collected are different measures; these reports do not by themselves establish a complete cashing-up process.

Loyalty points

Configure eligible earning and redemption rules where supported. Confirm which purchases and channels participate rather than assuming every transaction qualifies.

TEST THE DETAILS THAT MATTER

Bring your actual counter requirements to the demonstration

Product choices

Show the drinks and variations customers request. Confirm how staff enter them and which choices are supported.

Order changes

Demonstrate the updates staff need to make and the conditions under which those actions are available.

Payment exceptions

Check the response to a declined or uncertain payment. Test any tab, pre-authorisation or bill-splitting requirement separately.

Equipment and terms

Confirm the hardware, connectors and modules in the quotation. Obtain the applicable installation, training, support and trial terms in writing.

Compare plans for your business

Review the included features and confirm any hardware or additional services required for your setup. Trials last one calendar month and require verification and approval. Review the Direct Debit setup and billing dates during registration.

Each additional location is priced separately; ask about a possible multi-location discount. Plan eligibility still depends on the relevant configured workflow and the offered setup. Appointment requirements are discussed rather than a promise of dedicated appointment booking. Confirm the customer-facing reservation journey, equipment, printer connection, paid membership billing, payment processing, support and contract terms in a written quote. Trials require verification and approval.

QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU CHOOSE

Bar POS system questions

Can staff select products and manage existing orders?

Product selection, customer lookup and order-queue handling are supported. Updates to an existing order depend on its state and the permitted action.

Does an open order work as a bar tab?

Not necessarily. Open-order handling does not establish credit tabs, card pre-authorisation or consolidation of several rounds. Ask to see the precise tab process your bar requires.

Can the system handle doubles, mixers and happy-hour rules?

Those specific functions are not established by the catalogue evidence described here. Demonstrate the product choices and pricing rules you need before relying on them.

Can customers split a bill by person or item?

Part-payment functionality does not establish guest-by-guest or item-by-item bill splitting. Confirm the exact billing workflow during your demonstration.

Does stock control measure draught use or wastage?

The verified functions cover product-level stock and purchasing. Draught measurement, ingredient usage and wastage calculations require separate evidence.
