PAYMENT TERMINAL HARDWARE
Portable Card Machines & Payment Terminals
Choose a card payment machine around where customers pay and how the transaction connects with your EPOS. Discuss the device, provider and connection your venue needs, with the approved SmartSeries A920 shown as a hardware example.
Confirm the exact model variant, availability, provider and EPOS compatibility before ordering. A terminal photograph does not establish an integrated payment connection.

START WITH YOUR SERVICE
Choose the terminal around the payment task
Counter payments
Explain how staff build the order and take payment at the counter. Confirm whether the proposed terminal receives the amount from EPOS or requires separate entry.
Payments away from the counter
If staff need a portable card machine at a table or elsewhere in the venue, confirm the device’s connectivity, power arrangements and suitability for that working area.
Payment or full order entry
Taking a card payment is different from entering products or managing an order on the same device. Ask to see the complete workflow if you need both.
APPROVED HARDWARE EXAMPLE
Discuss the SmartSeries A920 for your proposed setup
The SmartSeries A920 model and photograph have been approved for use on this website. The image illustrates the equipment; the exact variant, current availability and included components must be confirmed for your quotation.
Before choosing it, check the proposed provider, connector and gateway together. Do not assume that a model name alone establishes compatibility with every EPOS payment journey.
HOW THE TERMINAL CONNECTS
Confirm integrated or standalone payment handling
Integrated terminal setup
An integrated setup requires a compatible device integration, enrolled connector and active gateway. Demonstrate how the amount reaches the terminal and how the payment result returns to the order.
Standalone card processing
A standalone card payment may be processed separately and then recorded in POS. That record does not by itself establish an automated terminal connection.
Confirm what staff should do when a payment is declined, delayed or has an uncertain result. The recovery process should be demonstrated for the exact device and provider being proposed.
BEFORE YOU ORDER
Check the equipment and service together
Exact model and components
Confirm the terminal variant and everything included in the quotation, including any required charging equipment, accessories or receipt arrangements.
Connectivity and power
Check the connectivity options and power requirements of the selected device. Do not assume every variant supports the same network connections or portable use.
Accepted payment methods
Confirm the cards, contactless options or mobile wallets supported by the proposed device and provider service. These should not be inferred from the photograph.
Provider terms and support
Obtain the applicable fees, contract conditions, settlement arrangements and support details for the proposed setup before deciding.
DEMONSTRATE THE TRANSACTION
Test more than a successful payment
Walk through a normal payment, then check the supported handling of declines, uncertain results and eligible refunds. Confirm which staff actions are required and where the outcome is recorded.
General part-payment functionality does not establish splitting a bill by guest or item. If that is part of your service, ask to see the specific workflow.
BUYING GUIDES
Read more before choosing a card machine
Use the buying guides for a closer look at comparison questions and cost considerations, then confirm the details that apply to your quotation.
QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU CHOOSE
Payment terminal questions
Is a portable card machine the same as a mobile POS system?
Not necessarily. A payment terminal processes a payment, while a mobile POS workflow may also include product selection and order handling. Confirm which tasks the proposed device and software can perform together.
Will the pictured A920 integrate with my EPOS setup?
The model and photograph are approved for illustration, but the exact variant, connector and gateway pairing must be confirmed. Ask to see the integrated transaction before relying on that connection.
Which cards, wallets and network connections are supported?
These depend on the exact device variant and provider service. Obtain the relevant specifications and acceptance details for the proposed setup rather than assuming every terminal offers the same options.
What fees, settlement times and refund functions apply?
Confirm the provider’s applicable terms and the demonstrated refund workflow for your setup. No universal rate, settlement time or automatic refund process is promised here.
