Booking-based admissions for activities and timed sessions

ACTIVITY AND SESSION ADMISSIONS

Booking-Based Admission Software

Organize visits around booked activities, attendee places and available sessions. EPOS Bookings connects the customer’s booking with confirmation and arrival checks, using the rules configured for your venue.

This page describes admission through an activity booking. Open-date tickets, separate ticket redemption and other ticket formats require individual confirmation.

WHAT THE CUSTOMER BOOKS

Define the visit through an activity and session

In this workflow, the customer books places for an activity and selects an available date and session. Attendee categories, quantities and prices define the booking, while configured capacity and booking limits control availability.

The booking provides the basis for arrival checks. It should not be treated as proof of a separately issued ticket for each attendee or an unrestricted right to enter at another time.

The activity and session

The selected activity, date and time slot define the booked visit.

The attendee places

Attendee categories and quantities describe the places included in the booking.

The admission conditions

Booking status, timing, payment and waiver requirements determine whether the booking is available to check in.

FROM PURCHASE TO ARRIVAL

Connect the booking with the visit

1

Choose and book

Customers select an activity, attendees and an available session through the configured booking journey. Online payment is available where the required gateway setup is in place.

2

Receive confirmation

A booking confirmation email can be sent when configured. Confirmation and payment status depend on the booking process and payment result.

3

Check the booking at arrival

Staff can find the booking or use booking QR check-in. Admission checks follow the configured timing, status, payment and waiver rules.

Booking QR check-in is not the same as a separate ticket-redemption system. Confirm the identifier and arrival process your customers will use.

SET THE RULES FOR THE VISIT

Keep places, payments and arrival requirements connected

Capacity and booking limits

Guest capacity and booking-count limits are separate controls. Configure them around the activity and the number of places available.

Payment conditions

Where online payment is configured, its result affects booking and payment status. A payment attempt alone does not confirm a successfully paid booking.

Waiver requirements

Required waivers affect the customer journey and check-in eligibility. Confirm the appropriate waiver setup for the activity.

Bookings with several attendees

A booking can include attendee quantities and categories. Confirm how your team handles the group at arrival; separate attendee redemption and partial arrivals are not assumed.

CHECK THE ADMISSION MODEL

Make sure the workflow matches what you sell

This booking-based approach is relevant when customers choose an activity and a timed session. If you sell open-date entry, individually redeemable tickets, multi-visit passes or admission with repeat entry, ask us to confirm that specific requirement before selecting your setup.

On-site ticket sales and kiosk ticket purchases also need their own demonstrated journey. A ticket label on a screen does not establish the purchase, issuance and redemption steps behind it.

QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU CHOOSE

Booking-based admission questions

What does the customer purchase in this workflow?

The customer books attendee places for a configured activity and session. The booking, its status and the relevant arrival rules provide the basis for check-in.

Does each attendee receive a separate ticket?

The workflow described here does not establish a separately issued ticket or unique redemption identifier for every attendee. Confirm that requirement if your venue needs individual tickets.

Can customers buy open-date admission?

This page describes activity bookings with selected dates and sessions. Open-date admission is not established by this workflow and needs separate confirmation.

How is a booking checked when customers arrive?

Staff can use booking search or booking QR check-in. Availability to check in depends on timing, booking status, payment and waiver requirements.

Can members of a group arrive separately?

Attendee quantities can be included in a booking, but this does not establish individual redemption or partial check-in. Ask us to demonstrate the group-arrival process you need.

Can customers buy tickets at the till or kiosk?

Staff POS and kiosk functions must be checked against the specific admission journey. Independent ticket purchase, issuance and redemption are not promised by the booking-based workflow described here.

DEMONSTRATE THE WHOLE VISIT
